You become a truck driver by undergoing a training course. This course is in 2 parts: Part 1) The first part is the written test, click this link Practice Road Rules Test, it will take you to the Queensland Government website. On this website are the questions that you will have to answer in the written test. Part 2) After you have passed your written/ theory test, you can begin your practical training for a car/ heavy vehicle licence.

Each individual is different in how they learn and the learning time can vary from person to person. As a general rule most people tend to take about 4-6 lessons for cars and Light to Medium Rigid vehicles and 7-10 lessons Heavy Rigid and Heavy Combo.
